When Algorithms Decide: Navigating Ethical AI in the Modern World explores how to implement AI responsibly in practice. As generative AI tools become embedded in everyday workflows, researchers face growing ethical, governance and methodological challenges that go beyond technical performance.
In this opening keynote for GenAI in the Social Sciences, Professor Shonali Krishnaswamy (Director, Monash AI Institute; Associate Dean (Innovation), Faculty of IT) will draw on her experience working across research and industry to introduce a practical five-step framework for responsible AI implementation. The session will guide participants through how to move from experimentation to deployment while addressing real-world impact.
