Life Course Centre Seminar Series

Mary Lee Family Dynamics Fellowship Seminar

Presented by Dr Sandra Buchler, Mary Lee Family Dynamics Fellow, The University of Queensland

Sole Parents Over the Life Course

The Life Course Centre is the proud recipient of funds bequeathed to The University of Queensland by Dr Mary Wing Ming Lee. Dr Lee was an accomplished clinical psychologist in Hong Kong who graduated from The University of Queensland with a Masters of Psychology in 1996 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 2015. The bequest was accepted by the University in 2021 and endowed for perpetual impact. The component bequeathed to the Life Course Centre will help fund an early career research fellowship, under the guidance of Professor Janeen Baxter, to support family dynamics and family systems research with a focus on understanding how family background shapes outcomes for children and adults and to generate evidence for programs and policies to improve family life.

We are delighted to announce that Dr Sandra Buchler is the current Mary Lee Family Dynamics Fellow. Sandra’s research focuses on the life course trajectories of sole parents in Australia.

Please join us to hear the latest research findings from the Mary Lee Family Dynamics Fellow.
