Dr Rose Stambe

Dr Rose Stambe is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the School of Social Sciences and the Centre for Policy Futures. and a LCC Research Fellow. Her expertise is in qualitative research methods, including ethnography. Rose’s key research interest is in understanding how policy, institutional practices, and systems shape the experiences of people who are socially and economically marginalised and the possibilities for system transformation. Rose has researched across critical and community psychology, sociology and social work in areas such as unemployment and work, homelessness, domestic and family violence, and mental health. Rose did her undergraduate degree in psychology and completed her PhD in social sciences. Her PhD was on the mundane practices of an Australian employment services provider, and she won the Dean’s Award for Outstanding HDR Thesis. Currently, Rose’s research seeks to understand the experiences of the socially and economically marginalised in times of crisis and disruption.
