Keeping Families Together program evaluation

Keeping Families Together is funded by the Queensland Government and delivered by Micah Projects and Common Ground Queensland. The innovative program provides secure housing and multidisciplinary support for 20 extremely low-income Brisbanebased families to exit homelessness, and access and sustain affordable housing in the private rental market.

The project

The Life Course Centre has conducted research over three years to investigate the short-term and long-term outcomes of the Keeping Families Together program.

The research team initially investigated the short-term outcomes from the 12-month pilot project, before revisiting participants to look at the effects of the long-term impact of stable and supported housing after three years.

Having a secure and affordable place to live is a critical factor influencing the wellbeing of families and enabling their full participation in society.
