Life Course Centre Seminar Series

National Disability Data Asset

Presented by Kayelle Drinkwater, Australian Government Department of Social Services

The National Disability Data Asset (NDDA) brings together datasets from almost every part of government including disability, health, social security, education, employment, housing and justice. It contains information on the full Australian population – not just those with a disability. The first release of NDDA took place in December 2024 and further data releases will occur throughout 2025. Underpinning the NDDA is the Australian National Data Integration Infrastructure (ANDII) which includes a national spine, linkage model, data governance and streamlined data sharing arrangements.

In this seminar, Kayelle Drinkwater (Department of Social Services) will explain the development of the NDDA, outline the structure and variable content of the NDDA, explain the governance and acceptable uses of the NDDA, describe the data releases and discuss suitable topics for early insights and analyses. If you are interested in accessing and analysing these data this seminar is essential and will provide the information needed to get you started on a suitable project.
