More about our Working Paper Series

Impact

The Working Paper Series has demonstrated outstanding impact in high-profile reports and inquiries from government and non-government organisations in Australia and internationally. Some showcase examples of the power of our Working Papers to inform important policy discussion and development include the Productivity Commission’s 2018 report on the state of inequality in Australia, which featured a number of papers; the Australian Government Inquiry into Intergenerational Welfare Dependence 2018-2019 and its final report, Living on the Edge, which cited papers and featured an entire chapter titled ‘Life Course’; and the Australian Human Rights Commission 2017 Children’s Rights Report, which drew upon student-led Working Papers.

Profile

Our Working Papers also consistently generate strong media exposure and profile for authors, and our Media and Communications Officer uses a range of channels to strategically position papers to reach target audiences. This includes, but is not limited to social media; media releases; key policy outlets such as The Mandarin and Analysis and Policy Observatory (APO); our News articles; and inclusion in our Digest newsletter
