Three Life Course Centre members have been recognised during The University of Queensland’s Research and Innovation Week 2024, which celebrates exceptional research achievements and contributions.
Research Fellow Dr Ella Kuskoff won a prestigious UQ Foundation Research Excellence Award at the Research and Innovation Awards for Excellence. Her award will allow her to research the role of the community in helping prevent domestic and family violence.
Associate Investigator Associate Professor Yaqoot Fatima from the UQ Poche Centre for Indigenous Health won the Early to Mid-Career Researcher Industry Engagement Award for her project Let’s Yarn About Sleep, at the Research Partnerships and Translation Awards.
The Let’s Yarn About Sleep project, a co-designed program which aims to improve sleep health in First Nations communities, also received the Public Engagement & Community-led Research Award at the UQ Cultural Awards.
Research Fellow Dr Stefanie Plage was the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences Winner for UQ Early to Mid-Career Researcher Industry Impact Award, for her work on participant-produced photography for understanding housing instability and health.
