Geographies of the Life Course Workshop

Geographies of the Life Course Workshop is being run over two days as part of the Places research program.

DAY 2: Thursday, 29 April — 13:00-17:15 AEST

This is a hybrid event, with participants able to attend either via Zoom or in person at the University of Melbourne.

About this event

The workshop will explore the field of geographic life course scholarship and help participants to understand new frontiers (both academic and applied). It ill bring Life Course Centre members into conversation about the research potential and impact of spatial analysis of the life course, as well as exploring the challenges and opportunities of doing geographic life course research in an interdisciplinary fashion.

The Geographies of the Life Course workshop aims to:

  1. Explore the field of geographic Life Course scholarship conceptually and understand new frontiers, both academic and applied
  2. Bring LCC staff into conversation about the research potential and impact of spatial analysis of the life course
  3. Explore the challenges and opportunities of doing geographic life course research in an interdisciplinary fashion
  4. Discuss the ethical and normative dimensions of undertaking geographic research on the life course in Australia today

Speakers include Professor Ruth Fincher and Professor Mei-Po Kwan.
